When you obtain or download a backing track you should always ensure that you have permissions to use it for the purpose for which it is intended, whether a personal and non-commercial recording studio experience, or mass distribution. We already have a large bank of suitable backings available for our customers, but there are always occasions when we don't have a particular backing, and in that case we need to order tracks in from recommended retailers. In our research into this matter and our legitimate concern over copyright issues, we have established relationships with a number of sites that offer backing tracks which may be used for recording studio experiences and other similar activities without fear of prosecution. Song Galaxy offer a wide selection of easily downloadable tracks which may be used for recording studio experience days and other non-commercial ventures. You can download, midis and enhanced midis, or mp3, and can listen to samples before you download. You can also check for tuning. if the key is correct, all well and good. If you need a different key it's best to download a midi file so that we can adjust this in the studio. We can also obtain tracks from Song Galaxy for you, although we do make a charge for this service. Generally speaking, the advantage of this arrangement is that you can listen to your tracks in advance and prepare more thoroughly for your recording studio experience day.

Bespoke tracks - Recording Studio

If you would like to develop your own backing track to be used for a commercial or semi-commercial release, or if you are interested in duplicating many copies of your recording studio experience, we are also able to help you develop your own unique backings, which can be used for this purpose,and for any future performances you had in mind. This is naturally a more time-consuming process, but is ultimately rewarding for those who intend to distribute the results of their recording.

Songwriting Experience

Additionally, if you are interested in songwriting and would like to develop one of your songs during a songwriting experience, we are able to do this to a professional and commercial standard, the session culminating in the production of a CD of your own song. We can even bring in a singer if you would prefer to have someone else sing for you! your backing would then be available to you for future performances.
