You should choose tracks you enjoy singing. If you have a backing
already to practise with, then so much the better. If not, the engineer/producer
at the Beehouse will help you by sending a list of tracks that are
generally available. The Beehouse can also help you to source unusual
tracks if they are available.
Choose as many as you like, in the five hours we may record between
three and eight tracks, depending on how practised you are, what you
want the final product for, and so forth. In three hours it would be 2-3 tracks. If you want to record your
own material, this will take longer due to arrangement / production
requirements.
We enjoy the challenge and stimulation of working with new and original
material. If you would like to record your own music, please let us
know well in advance of your session, and we will ensure your staffing
for the day is right for you. We can help with your arrangement, production,
programming and instrumentation if necessary. We can also advise you
about possible avenues, should you be considering releasing your material.
You can record anything you can transport to the studio!. In the case of pianos and keyboards, we have a selection here, as we do guitars. We will record any instrument, vocals of any kind, and we will also produce your music for you, using what we have at the studio plus advanced computer software. You may also take part in thius process as well - we also offer studio engineering and music production experiences as well as DJ experiences.
Keep singing or practising, get a copy of your lyrics, or we can source one for
you if you wish. Make sure you have our address, directions and telephone
number. Possibly book a hotel or bed and breakfast for one of your
nights.
You will be recording and producing with Phil or Jane. Phil and Jane have a combined 40 years' experience
in the recording and music production business with some very illustrious
names in the world of Pop Music, and Jane is a classically trained
pianist and arranger.
Up to 3 visitors may attend your session besides you. Recording artists
under 16 should always be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Up to three people can take part in a session. If more want to become
involved, there is a surcharge of £25 per person, per
day.
It costs £199.75 for a five hour session
and £350 for a two-day experience. This includes the cost of cutting one final CD
for the Day Experience and 5 final CDs for the Two-Day Experience. There is also now a mini-session at £135 for 3 hours.
You will get five hours' recording and production work in one session,
and ten hours' recording in the two-day sessions. This is about
double the time you get in other packages for about the same money.
This is because we aim for our artists to leave with a memorable professional
product at the end of the day - we are a commercial studio, and prefer
to maintain our standards throughout the work we turn out, whether
amateur, beginner or seasoned pro.
There are no extra charges for cutting the final CD, or in the case
of the "two-day experience ", 5 CDs, and we provide tea, coffee and
lyric sheets free of charge. We also provide access to a huge range of backings
as a part of your package. Additional hours are carried out at £28 per hour. We can also carry out artwork at a cost of £40
per sleeve. If you are recording classical music or other types, you may want to arrange an accompanist, although it's best to bring your own if this is how you want to work. Weekend recordings carry a surcharge.
