Your Recording Experience Day at the Beehouse
Recording experiences - introduction
Most recording experience sessions begin with a cup of tea or coffee and some time getting a feel of where the artist is coming from, and what their objectives from the session will be. Studio staff are around at this time, and this is where you can put a face to those names, and find out who you'll be working with. Things will follow this pattern whatever the length of the session booked. If you wish to walk into the studio and commence singing cold, we are happy to comply if notified in advance, but our experience tells us that a short discussion at the start is helpful in allowing the customer to unwind and us to have a better perspective of the personality we are dealing with.
What happens during your recording session:

At this point you'll begin working with one or another staff members. Anyone with you is free to sit in on these sessions also, although this does depend on you. Singers usually launch directly into a recording session with re recording engineer/ producer, during which they will be given headphones and vocal coaching in microphone technique, where necessary. If you are preparing your own tracks, and working at the arrangement stage, then this is often best done one to one with the arranger, but then you will also carry on through to the performance stage in the studio proper. Other musicians may go through other stages, depending on the type of recording which is being made - with original music much time is spent developing and understanding of production and instrumentation. The day is aimed to introduce you to the world or recording in a light-hearted but effective way, we don't assume that everyone is a natural singer, or pass judgements about technique. Everyone is here to enjoy themselves and hopefully to improve a little!
Cutting your music to CD
We usually know early on in the session exactly how much material you will be able to produce during your allocated period of time, be it three hours, five or ten. Some walk away with practically an album of tracks, others have one original song with all the instrumentation laid down - everything depends what the artist wants to achieve from the session, and how seriously they take their music. The finished products , when the engineer is satisfied, are cut to a CD*. Copies of an original tracks experience are available on the day.Extra recording hours
If you book a shorter experience or you want to extend your experience in any way, you may do this at £35 and hour. It is a good idea to check with the engineer in advance if you think this may be possible, to ensure that he is available for a longer session if this occurs. Additional backing tracks/ lyrics may be downloaded on the day at a cost of around £5 each. We try to be as flexible as we can, as we know that initial plans don't always run as expected!CD Artwork
For an extra fee of £45 we can prepare a laser-printed sleeve for your CD from photos/text you provide. This has been extremely popular on Wedding Anniversary Gifts and Birthday Presents.
